The outgoing C 200 coupe was priced at $79,200 before on-roads and the E 300 was priced at $112,969 before on-roads, while the base version of the new car – the CLE 200 – rings up at $103,900 before on-road costs.
There are just two members of the CLE range for now: the CLE 200 and CLE 300 4Matic coupes. Convertible models will follow to replace the defunct C-Class and E-Class drop-tops.
Both models come standard with the AMG Line appearance package, the Night Package which brings black trim elements, and the Digital Light package.
The latter brings a projection function for the headlights, plus two daytime running light ellipses and "blue illumination of the headlight base".
Pricing
- 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE 200 Coupe: $103,900
- 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4Matic Coupe: $124,900
All prices exclude on-road costs.
Drivetrains
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE 200 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 150kW of power and 320Nm of torque. It's rear-wheel drive.
The CLE 300 is all-wheel drive and uses a 190kW/400Nm turbo 2.0-litre four.
Both models use a nine-speed automatic transmission with an integrated starter generator.
This provides support at lower speeds and can allow the vehicle to coast, while the electric motor provides a boost of 17kW and 205Nm in either model.
Efficiency
Mercedes-Benz has yet to release local fuel economy figures for the CLE range.
Dimensions
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE measures 4850mm long, 1861mm wide (2041mm including the mirrors) and 1422mm tall on a 2865mm wheelbase.
The CLE sits 15mm lower than C-Class and E-Class sedans thanks to standard sport suspension.
The CLE is closer to the defunct E-Class coupe (4841mm long) than the C-Class coupe (4708mm) in terms of overall length. It's also the same width as the larger of the two coupes, though Mercedes-Benz has still been able to increase rear shoulder room by 54mm and rear elbow rom by 36mm.
It has an extra 60L of luggage space over the C-Class coupe, bringing total volume to 420L.
